NEET-UG is a national-level medical entrance exam conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) for admission to undergraduate medical and dental courses in various government and private medical and dental colleges across India. • Age Limit: As per the latest update, there is no upper age limit for NEET-UG 2023. However, the minimum age limit for the exam is 17 years as of December 31, 2023. Candidates born on or before December 31, 2006, are eligible to apply.

• Nationality: Only Indian nationals, Non-Resident Indians (NRIs), Overseas Citizen of India (OCI), Persons with Indian Origin (PIO), and foreign nationals are eligible to apply for NEET-UG 2023.

• Educational Qualification: Candidates who have passed or are appearing for Class 12 or equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology, and English as compulsory subjects are eligible to apply for NEET-UG 2023. Candidates who have passed Class 12 or equivalent examination with Biology as an additional subject are also eligible to apply.

• Minimum Percentage: Candidates must have scored a minimum of 50% marks (40% marks for SC/ST/OBC/PwD candidates and 45% marks for General-PwD candidates) in their Class 12 or equivalent examination. Candidates appearing for Class 12 or equivalent examination can also apply for NEET-UG 2023, provided they fulfill the minimum percentage criteria at the time of admission.

• Number of Attempts: There is no limit on the number of attempts for NEET-UG. However, the eligibility criteria for each attempt must be fulfilled.

• State Eligibility Criteria: Apart from the above-mentioned eligibility criteria, some states and universities have their own eligibility criteria for admission to medical and dental courses. Candidates must fulfill the state eligibility criteria to be eligible for admission to medical and dental colleges in those states.

• It is important to note that candidates who have studied abroad must ensure that their qualifying examination is at par with the Class 12 examination of India. Such candidates are required to submit an equivalence certificate issued by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU).
