- Educational Qualification: Candidates who have passed or are appearing for Class 12 or equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology, and English as compulsory subjects are eligible to apply for NEET-UG 2023. Candidates who have passed Class 12 or equivalent examination with Biology as an additional subject are also eligible to apply.
- Minimum Percentage: Candidates must have scored a minimum of 50% marks (40% marks for SC/ST/OBC/PwD candidates and 45% marks for General-PwD candidates) in their Class 12 or equivalent examination. Candidates appearing for Class 12 or equivalent examination can also apply for NEET-UG 2023, provided they fulfill the minimum percentage criteria at the time of admission.
- Number of Attempts: There is no limit on the number of attempts for NEET-UG. However, the eligibility criteria for each attempt must be fulfilled.
- State Eligibility Criteria: Apart from the above-mentioned eligibility criteria, some states and universities have their own eligibility criteria for admission to medical and dental courses. Candidates must fulfill the state eligibility criteria to be eligible for admission to medical and dental colleges in those states.
- It is important to note that candidates who have studied abroad must ensure that their qualifying examination is at par with the Class 12 examination of India. Such candidates are required to submit an equivalence certificate issued by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU).
